2003 Zinnkoepflé Night

Seppi celebrated his 20 years of winemaking

The party

Marquis in the court yard of the estate

Nearly 150 clients and friends, for Seppi they often go together, answered his invitation to come and taste the exceptional survey of the last 20 vintages. The bottles were even more enhanced and appreciated by Jean-François Tisler’s detailed and even poetic analysis of all the subtleties of these precious nectars.

Wines tasted in their tasting order:

1993 Crémant Heidenberg

(dry sparkling wine)

1999 Sylvaner Z

2000 Sylvaner Hors-la-Loi (outlaw)

1999 Sylvaner Vin de Glace (ice wine)

2001 Noble Valley Tokay Pinot Gris

Bollenberg

1983 Noble Valley late harvest Tokay Pinot Gris Bollenberg

1988 Zinnkoepflé noble rot great classified Tokay Pinot Gris

2000 Gewurztraminer Noble Valley

1982 Zinnkoepflé late harvest great classified Gewurztraminer

1989 Zinnkoepflé noble rot great classified  Gewurztraminer

With absolute confidence in the choice of their host, the guests came with an appetite already heightened by the mystery of the composition of the evening’s meal. Seppi, the Obélix of Zinnkoepflé certainly did not disappoint them specially with the skewers of young wild boar!

Seppi's speech:

It was with his usual enthusiasm that Seppi gave his welcoming speech full of joviality. The subject was of course women. In turn it was moving, jovial or even Rabelaisian. He spoke of all the women – relatives, friends, partners, assistants who all helped him to build his personal and professional life: Emma, Michèle, Mariette, Christine, Sandrine, Finala, Andréa, Madeleine, Rita, Arlette...

In his praise of wine and friendship he did not hesitate to refer to the members of parliament who were there to quote his favourite proverb "Give them a glass of good wine and they will make good laws" (Montaigne).
